Growth Doctor

Why visitors leave your site, and what to fix first

When ads stop paying, most people change the ad. Often the ad was never the problem: a checkout that demands an account, a booking form that asks too much, a buy button hidden under a chat bubble on a phone, or tracking that can’t see half the sales. This skill file, a set of instructions you give to Claude (Anthropic’s AI assistant), teaches it how to find which one it is on your site.

It looks at your site the way a buyer on a phone does

Your site on three phones, a tablet and a laptop

It opens each page at 360, 390 and 430 pixels wide, then 768 and 1280, and looks at every screenshot: anything cut off, a button covered by a chat bubble, a pop-up that hides the page.

The way to the payment screen, or to the end of your form

A shop: it adds one item to the cart, opens the checkout and stops at the payment screen. Can a buyer check out as a guest? Which ways to pay are shown? Bookings or enquiries: it opens the form and reads it to the end, from the fields it asks for to where the send button sits on a phone. Nothing is typed, paid or sent.

Every link and the padlock

Each link on the pages is checked once, and so is your security certificate and how many days it has left.

Where your ad visitors drop out

Send your last 30 days from Meta, Google Ads or another platform: pasted, a screenshot or a downloaded file. If you don’t know where to find them, it tells you. It works out how many people make it from the ad to the page and on to the order or the enquiry, and compares your numbers with published figures for your category, with the source named.

Whether ads can pay at all

It compares what one sale is worth with what one sale costs in ads. When a sale is worth no more than it costs to get, no ad can make money, and the fix is the offer or the price, not the ad.

Add the file, answer five questions, get your Monday list

  1. 1

    Add the file

In Claude Code, open an empty folder, give it the file and say “Use the growth-doctor skill”. It sets up what it needs.

  2. 2

    Answer five questions

Your website and the page your ads lead to; what you sell and what counts as a sale; what one sale is worth and where your buyers are; your last 30 days of ad numbers, or “site only”; and anything that changed recently. Each comes with an example answer.

  3. 3

    Get your Monday list

A report whose first page answers two questions: is the site broken, and if not, why do visitors leave? It ends with what to do on Monday: each fix, who does it and how urgent it is.

It runs by itself in Claude Code

It also runs in Codex, Google Antigravity or a normal chat, where you do more of the looking.

Runs by itself · tested

Claude Code

In the Claude desktop app’s Code tab or the terminal. It drives its own browser. We ran it on live websites before publishing the file.

Not yet tested

Codex or Google Antigravity

The same way, from ChatGPT’s Codex or Google Antigravity. It should work, but we haven’t tested it yet.

You do the looking

A normal Claude or ChatGPT chat

It still reads your numbers and writes the report, but you send about ten screenshots and run three public tools yourself: roughly 20–30 minutes. The skill says so first and suggests switching.

The route that runs by itself needs a computer with Node.js 18 or newer installed, and downloads a browser once. No API key, no account and no sign-in: it never asks for a password, a login or access to your ad account; your numbers and screenshots are enough. It changes nothing on your site or in your ads. Tracking that runs on your site’s server can’t be seen from a browser, so if the numbers point there, it asks once for a screenshot from Meta’s Events Manager.

The fixes, done for you

The skill tells you what to fix and who should do it. For clients, we do the fixing: the offer, the tracking, the page the ads land on and the ads themselves, then we measure again.
