What is GEO, in plain words?
GEO is the work of making sure that the pages an AI reads can say something true and specific about your brand.
When someone asks ChatGPT or Gemini which company to choose, the AI often searches the web first. It reads a handful of pages, then writes its answer from what those pages say. If the pages describe you clearly — what you sell, where, for whom, and with what proof — the AI has something to say about you. If they don’t, it names someone else. Sometimes the AI answers from what it learned when it was trained instead; that part changes slowly, and mostly follows what is written about you across the web.
So the work happens in two places. The first is your own website: pages that answer a buyer’s question in their first lines, and facts about your business that read the same everywhere. The second is the other websites the AIs read before they answer: business listings, directories, review sites, articles and comparison pages.
Why do we do SEO as well?
Because Google’s own AI answers are built from Google search. Google says a page has to be indexed, and able to appear in ordinary Google results with a short preview, before it can be shown as a link in AI Overviews or AI Mode. A website Google cannot read well is a website its AI cannot quote.
SEO is the work of getting your website found on Google: pages that match what people search for, a site Google can read quickly, and other trusted sites linking to yours. People still search on Google every day, so this work pays off twice. The same page that answers a buyer’s question well serves Google’s results and the AI answers at once, which is why we treat GEO and SEO as one job rather than two.
What do we measure?
We measure four things, and we measure them before we change anything, so every later number has a starting line.
01
What four public AI tools answer, every day, from Singapore.
We ask the ChatGPT website, the Gemini website, Google's AI Mode and Google's AI Overviews the questions your buyers ask, in the words a buyer would use, and keep every answer. We ask from Singapore because the answers change with where the question comes from.
02
Who is named instead of you.
For every answer, we list each company it recommends, in the order it names them. When you are missing, that list shows exactly who is taking your place, question by question.
03
Which websites the AIs read.
Each answer comes with the pages the AI opened before writing it. Those pages are where the work goes: your own pages first, then the listings, directories and articles the AIs keep coming back to.
04
What the AIs say about you by name.
When someone asks about your brand directly, we check the answer for wrong facts — an old address, a service you don't offer, your name mixed up with another company's — and trace each wrong fact back to the page it came from, so it can be corrected at the source.
How we tell our work apart from luck
Before we change anything, we set a few of your questions aside and do no work on them. AI answers move on their own from week to week. If the questions we worked on improve and the set-aside ones do not, the change is very likely ours. If both move together, the AIs changed, not us, and we say so in the report.
How does an engagement run?
- 01
We agree the questions.
Together we write down the questions your buyers ask an AI before they buy, in their own words rather than in marketing language. You approve the list before anything is measured.
- 02
We measure before we change anything.
For the first week or two, we ask the four AI tools every day and record who is named, which pages are read and what is said about you. This is the starting line.
- 03
We set some questions aside.
A few of the agreed questions are left untouched on purpose, so that a later rise can be told apart from the AIs simply changing their answers.
- 04
We find the gaps.
For each question where you are missing, we read the pages the AIs relied on and compare them with yours: whether the answer comes first, whether Singapore and your proof are on the page, and whether the facts about your business agree everywhere they appear.
- 05
We make the changes.
On your website: pages that answer the question in their first lines, clear facts about who you are, and structured data — labels in the page's code that tell search engines and AIs what each fact means. Off your website: the listings and directories the AIs read, corrected so they say the same thing. You approve every page before it goes live, and we write down the date of every change so its effect can be checked later.
- 06
We report every month.
What changed, which answers now name you and which still don't, who is named instead, and what we plan to do next — in plain words. Your report carries your own numbers only.
What can’t we promise?
A place in an AI answer.
No agency controls what ChatGPT, Gemini or Google's AI writes. We change what the answers are built from; we cannot change the AI. Be careful with anyone who guarantees a mention or a ranking.
Speed.
When a change does move an answer, it usually shows between 2 and 8 weeks later. Some changes never move one. That is why we measure before, keep measuring after, and tell you which changes worked.
The same answer for everyone.
AI answers vary with the day, the wording and the person asking. One screenshot of one answer proves very little, so we judge on many answers collected over weeks.
Results that hold without upkeep.
The AIs update, and other companies publish new pages. An answer that names you this month can drop you next month, which is why the measuring continues for as long as the work does.
What does GEO cost?
We don’t publish prices. What moves the cost is how many buyer questions we measure, how many pages need to be written or rewritten, and how many outside listings need correcting. We give you a written quote before anything starts.
Are we doing this on ourselves?
Yes. We are running the same method on our own brand first. Our method was written down and fingerprinted before we changed anything: SHA-256 ab9a7044d06f6d43a75c74d131a69fc9406c27c1b19d7af2f733e02c83f36f0d, timestamped with OpenTimestamps on 6 Oct 2026. We publish the full file at the end of the trial.
Questions, answered
- Is GEO the same as AEO?
- Yes, in practice. GEO (generative engine optimisation) and AEO (answer engine optimisation) are two names for the same work: getting a brand named in the answers that AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI write. Agencies use either name. We use GEO.
- How is GEO different from SEO?
- SEO aims at a list of links on Google, where the goal is to appear near the top. GEO aims at a written answer, where the goal is to be one of the few brands the AI names and describes correctly. They overlap a great deal: Google's AI answers draw on pages that Google search can already find, which is why we do both together.
- Can you guarantee that ChatGPT will name my brand?
- No, and no honest agency can. The AI writes its own answer, and nobody outside the company that runs it controls that. We can change what the answer is built from — your pages and the other sites the AIs read — and show you, every month, whether it worked.
- How long before anything changes?
- When a change moves an answer, it usually shows between 2 and 8 weeks later. Some changes never move one. The first week or two of any engagement is measurement only, so that every later number is compared with a real starting line.
- Which AI tools do you check?
- Every day: the ChatGPT website, the Gemini website, Google's AI Mode and Google's AI Overviews, asked from Singapore. We use the public websites people actually use, because their answers can differ from what the same company's tools give programmers.
- What do you need from us?
- The facts about your business that buyers should know, someone who can approve pages, and either access to publish on your website or a person on your side who can. We write the pages and correct the listings; you approve them before they go live.
- What if an AI says something wrong about us?
- We find the page the wrong fact came from — often an old listing, or a website that copied company-registry details — and get it corrected there. We also make sure your own website states the right fact plainly, so the AI has a better source to quote. Then we keep checking the answers that mention you by name.
